1. INTRODUCTION
Thank you for volunteering for SPINFEST 2025. As a volunteer, you play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, inclusive, and sustainable event. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected from all volunteers in compliance with Indian laws and ethical event management practices.
By signing up as a volunteer, you agree to adhere to this code. Violation of these guidelines may result in immediate removal from volunteering duties.
2. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Treat all attendees, fellow volunteers, organizers, and vendors with respect, regardless of gender, caste, religion, disability, or background.
- Arrive on time for your assigned shifts and complete your responsibilities diligently.
- Comply with guidance from SPINFEST coordinators and respect the chain of command.
- Avoid actions that disrupt the event, such as public arguments or unauthorized protests.
3. LEGAL COMPLIANCE (INDIAN LAWS)
a) Anti-Harassment & Anti-Discrimination (POSH Act, 2013 & IPC Sections 354, 509)
- Harassment of any kind (verbal, physical, or online) is strictly prohibited.
- Unwelcome advances, offensive jokes, or inappropriate physical contact will lead to immediate dismissal and legal consequences.
- If you experience or witness harassment, report it immediately to the event HR or safety officer.
b) Anti-Substance Abuse & Intoxication (NDPS Act, 1985 & Excise Laws)
- No consumption or distribution of alcohol, drugs, or intoxicants is allowed at the event venue.
- Volunteers found intoxicated or under the influence will be removed immediately and reported if necessary.
c) Protection of Children & Women (POCSO Act, 2012 & IPC Sections 354, 509)
- No inappropriate interactions with minors or vulnerable individuals.
- Always maintain professional boundaries when assisting children, women, or elderly attendees.
d) Privacy & Data Protection (IT Act, 2000 & GDPR Compliance)
- Do not collect, share, or misuse personal information of attendees, vendors, or other volunteers.
- No unauthorized photography or videography of attendees, especially minors.
4. SAFETY & SECURITY GUIDELINES
- Familiarize yourself with emergency exits, first aid stations, and safety personnel.
- Immediately inform event security if you notice theft, suspicious activity, injuries, or medical emergencies.
- Volunteers must remain in assigned areas and not enter restricted zones without approval.
5. ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
- Dispose of waste in designated bins and support recycling efforts.
- Avoid single-use plastics and encourage attendees to adopt eco-friendly habits.
- Switch off lights and equipment when not in use.
6. SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
- Use event-approved hashtags for posts.
- Avoid posting defamatory or misleading information about SPINFEST.
- Unauthorized live streaming of private sessions is not allowed.
7. DRESS CODE & IDENTIFICATION
- Wear your official SPINFEST 2025 Volunteer Badge and T-Shirt at all times.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and modest appearance suitable for a professional public event.
- No political or religious slogans on clothing or accessories.
8. CONSEQUENCES FOR VIOLATION
Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- Verbal Warning – For minor infractions.
- Written Warning – If the issue persists.
- Immediate Removal – For serious violations (harassment, intoxication, security breach, etc.).
- Legal Action – If the behavior violates Indian law, authorities may be involved.

10. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT & AGREEMENT
By signing up as a volunteer for SPINFEST 2025, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Code of Conduct. You agree to comply with these guidelines and understand the consequences of non-compliance.
